I received this advertisement in my email today. (I’m on a distribution list for radiologists.)

I couldn’t help noticing that Siemens in its advertisement is stressing how this mobile app could help doctors involve patients more closely! I think that’s a very positive symptom that doctors are WANTING to involve the patients more these days. I hope this will be one of many such applications, part of a healthy trend.

I should point out too that this solves one problem for a doctor who wants to access the known set of images available to his or her own computer account from a mobile device. What it does NOT solve is the ability to move images from one hospital to another. There is work toward that goal too, but this is not it.
