Dr. John F. Petraglia, an anesthesiologyst and specialist in pain management, speaks with Mike and Joyce about his experience of more than 25 years of treating chronic and acute pain conditions.
His book, The Great Pain Jack, explains how pain essentially hijacks the brain. It is a self-help mapping tool to assist people and their doctors achieve an accurate diagnosis and create an appropriate treatment plan to deal with chronic or acute pain.
“It is my desire that by providing hope and inspiration, as well as diagnostic and therapeutic options for those in chronic pain, that an awareness campaign will generate enough momentum that no one will fall victim to ‘the great pain Jack!” Dr. Petraglia says.
Dr. Petraglia is involved in weekly live and internet-based support group education programs known as “Checkity Check before You Wreckity Wreck” to help those who suffer in pain better understand the proper usage of medications.
